Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") apply to My Health Buddy on the web and in the mobile app, provided by PairaDoc Technologies LLC, an Oklahoma limited liability company ("PairaDoc," "we," "us"). By using My Health Buddy, or letting a child use it, you agree to these Terms on your own behalf and on behalf of that child. If you do not agree, please do not use My Health Buddy.
What My Health Buddy is
My Health Buddy is a free collection of illustrated stories that help children ages 4–10 understand illness, hospital stays and feelings when they or someone they love is sick. It has no accounts, purchases, advertising, chat or uploads.
Educational stories, not medical advice
My Health Buddy shares general, simplified health education. It does not diagnose, assess symptoms, give treatment instructions or replace care from a qualified healthcare professional. A story may not match a particular child's or adult's condition, treatment or outlook. Always talk with your child's or loved one's healthcare team about their specific situation.
Not for emergencies
My Health Buddy is not an emergency or monitoring service. If a child or anyone else may need urgent care, call your local emergency number or contact a healthcare professional right away.
Grown-ups are in charge
My Health Buddy is designed for children to use with a parent, caregiver or other trusted adult. Some stories cover serious illnesses such as childhood cancer. We encourage adults to preview stories, read together and pause for questions. The grown-up check before the adult area limits casual access by young children; it does not verify anyone's age or identity.
Acceptable use
Please use My Health Buddy only for lawful, personal and educational purposes. Do not attempt to disrupt, overload, probe or gain unauthorized access to the app or the systems that host it, or copy it in bulk with automated tools.
Our stories and pictures
The stories, illustrations, the Pippin character, design and other content belong to PairaDoc Technologies LLC or its licensors. You may view, print and share pages for personal, non-commercial use at home, in a classroom or in a care setting. Please do not republish, sell or modify the content without our written permission. The story pictures are AI-generated illustrations; they show general ideas, not real patients or exact medical equipment.
Other websites
Links to other PairaDoc services appear only in the separate adult area. Those services have their own terms and privacy practices. We do not control outside websites and are not responsible for their content or availability.
Privacy
Our children's privacy notice, available at the Privacy for families page, explains what information is and is not handled. In short, children do not create accounts, and their story and feeling choices are not saved or sent to us.
Changes and availability
We may update, add or remove stories and features at any time, and the app may sometimes be unavailable. If we change these Terms, we will update the effective date above. Continuing to use My Health Buddy after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
Disclaimer of warranties
My Health Buddy is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, PairaDoc Technologies LLC and its members, employees and contractors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any decision made or action taken based on My Health Buddy content. Because My Health Buddy is free, our total liability for any claim relating to it is limited to fifty U.S. dollars ($50). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oklahoma, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute relating to My Health Buddy will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Oklahoma County, Oklahoma, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
App store terms
If you download My Health Buddy from the Apple App Store or Google Play, the store's own terms also apply to your download. Apple and Google are not responsible for My Health Buddy or its content. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms for app versions downloaded from the App Store.
General
If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our not enforcing a part of these Terms is not a waiver. These Terms and the children's privacy notice are the full agreement between you and us about My Health Buddy.
